Description

Value Chain defined as demand creation, fulfilment, and performance. Demand creation addresses customer centricity in the context of a product/service strategy, while demand fulfilment focuses on channel strategy; hence defining the complementarity of demand chain and supply chain. Demand performance addresses the overall financial strategy of the chain/network in terms of performance metrics/measurement and stakeholder value, resulting in the concept of a 'value chain'. Value Chain discussed as the holistic sum of demand chain and supply chain, characterized by shared opportunities, capabilities, assets, roles and tasks within an appropriate physical or virtual organizational structure.
