Statistics

A postgraduate coursework degree in Statistics at Macquarie University gives you the opportunity to learn in the largest University statistics department in Australia. Applied and practical programs provide the prospect of applying statistics to many fields, including medicine, social science, biology, sport and finance.

The emphasis of the Applied Statistics program is on the application of contemporary statistical methods and the use of the latest computational techniques. The Biostatistics program is an external, part-time course designed to develop highly trained professional biostatisticians. A group of senior academic biostatisticians, known as the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia (BCA), have collaborated around Australia to mount this program. This group comprises representatives from major Australian universities with medical statistics expertise, pharmaceutical companies, government and non-government organisations, all as major employers with a valued stake in the future of biostatistics.
