Scholarships

University and Commonwealth-funded scholarships in EFS

The University provides several scholarships of interest to research students. Most of the links provide information, application forms and instructions and conditions of the scholarship.

Candidates, including international students, who successfully apply for one of these scholarships and undertake their candidature within the Division of Economic and Financial Studies may apply to have their award stipend increased to a total of $32,500, tax exempt.

EFS PhD Research Scholarships

The Division offers a limited number of research scholarships for candidates undertaking doctoral research full time in the Departments of Accounting & Finance, Actuarial Studies, Business, Economics or Statistics.

The Division is especially keen to receive applications from persons wishing to undertake doctoral research in one of our major areas of research.

The award stipend is currently $32,500 per annum, tax exempt. Tenure is for 3 years, subject to satisfactory progress.

Applications usually close mid September for the following year.

Applied Finance PhD Scholarships

These scholarships are offered in the Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre to pursue a research program leading to the degree Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The scholarships have a living allowance of $35,000 per annum with additional funding available for conference travel and thesis production.
