Description

The major focus of this unit is the use of economic theory to analyse and evaluate the operation of the labour market. Special emphasis is placed on the Australian situation and alternative explanations. The following topics are covered: aggregate and individual labour supply, human capital theory, labour demand, the operation of labour markets, labour market segmentation, trade unions, unemployment and the functional and personal distribution of income.
