What are Conversation Groups?
Conversation Groups are designed for international students to practise their spoken English. It’s a very social, fun and relaxed setting where everyone is encouraged to talk about a wide range of topics. These can vary from your experiences on campus to getting a job, Australian colloquialisms and slang, Hollywood gossip and games. We also occasionally delve into deep and meaningful world and social issues.
Why should you join?
Aside from all the cool new people you will meet, Conversation Groups enable YOU to speak up when you want, discuss things YOU are interested in and provide an opportunity for YOU to share YOUR experiences.
Participants find that the friends they make in Conversation Groups are the ones they stay in touch with. Common interests and experiences of being an international student are shared (along with emails for MSN that are swapped), along with lots of laughing and social activities.

Starting in week 2 (Monday 11th August).
Come and join us, no need to sign up, bring your lunch!
You can attend one session per week, or four - it's up to you.

Conversation Groups are for everyone to join, not just Economic and Financial Studies students but also SIBT, linguistics, NCELTR, translation course students, undergraduate and postgraduate.

If you are interested in applying to be a Conversation Group Leader, please contact ERIC (E4B 106). It is very personally rewarding and gives you exposure to many skills such as facilitation, training, working with a diverse range of students and networking (not to mention the lasting friendships you will create).
