Financial Star Coffey Leaves GLG
- Economics / Actuarial Studies graduate Greg Coffey made international headlines recently when he walked away from a lump sum of $263 million in share options and other tied-up benefits by quitting his job at London hedge fund GLG Partners (one of Europe’s largest). Coffey is setting up his own firm.
Financial star Coffey has been called the highest paid investment manager in the world with a salary of $330 million in 2007. He began his career at Macquarie Bank after graduating from Macquarie in 1995, before moving to Europe, and managing emerging market funds worth $7.3 billion for GLG.
