The following coursework and research programs are available through the Graduate Studies Office.
Coursework programs
Master of Commerce in Accounting and Finance
This program is for graduates in accounting or finance who want to upgrade skills in accounting, finance, information systems, taxation or auditing. Advanced standing is available for the CPA and CA graduates.
Master of Commerce in Actuarial Studies
This program is suitable for graduates who hold a bachelor degree in actuarial studies or equivalent professional qualifications. The program is relevant for practicing actuaries who wish to update their knowledge and skills. It is also relevant for recent actuarial graduates studying for professional recognition.
Master of Commerce in Business
This is modern business degrees that promotes both depth and breadth in postgraduate business studies. Areas of study are: accounting; actuarial studies; commercial law; economics; entrepreneurship and innovation; finance; information systems and technology; marketing; management, organisations and society; tourism and hospitality; value chain management.
Master of Commerce in Information Systems and Technology
This degree program is provided for students who seek a business perspective in their study of information systems and technology rather than a computer science perspective. The degree builds upon the information systems and technology major in the MCom in Business. The degree is available to students with or without a business oriented IS/IT background.
Master of Commerce in Marketing
The marketing degree is a specialist program in strategic, operational and international marketing. A wide range of marketing units is available.
Master of Commerce in Value Chain Management
This is a specialist program combining supply and demand chain management with logistics. Although it is a Macquarie degree, it is taught only at Normandy Business School, France.
Master of International Business
The MIB teaches core business disciplines of marketing, finance, accounting and trade with an international focus and offers a wide range of electives in areas such as management, strategy, cross-cultural studies, entrepreneurship and innovation.
The MIB can be combined in an double degree program with either of the following two degrees:Master of Arts in International Communication or Master of International Relations.
Under these programs, the double degees of
- Master of International Business / Master of Arts in International Communication or
- Master of International Business / Master of International Relations
Master of Commercial Law
The program has been developed to meet the demand from a wide variety of graduates in areas as diverse as accounting, engineering, computer science and marketing, for specialised training in areas of law relevant to those working, or planning to work, in management positions in small or large organisations in either the private or public sectors.
Master of International Trade and Commerce Law
This program is available to both lawyers and non-lawyers and is designed to meet the needs of students with an interest in business, international business, environmental and commercial law.
Master of Banking and Financial Regulation
The program will be attractive to professionals in the financial services sector who want to deepen their knowledge of the law and regulatory aspects of banking, insurance, the securities industry and other forms of financial intermediation. It is open to graduates in any discipline and does not assume prior legal knowledge.
Master of Accounting
The Master of Accounting consists of all units required for the Postgraduate Diploma Accounting together with either the CPA program of CPA Australia or the CA Program of the ICAA. The program is directed toward domestic students and effectively allows candidates to count the CPA or CA program for credit toward a Masters degree.
Master of Accounting (CPA Extension)
The Master of Accounting (CPA Extension) consists of the requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting plus the CPA program of CPA Australia. The program provides extensive support for the corresponding CPA segment as well as advanced study in the area.
Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting
The Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting provides a path for university graduates in any discipline to acquire qualifications that are fully recognised by CPA Australia and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Professional Education Program
Individual units within any postgraduate program can be taken individually on a "non-award" basis under the Professional Education Program.
Research Programs
