Learning and Teaching Research

Vision

The vision of the Learning and Teaching research group is to see the Division of EFS become Australia’s leading centre for research on professional education for accountants, actuaries, business, economics and quantitative sciences.

Scope

The two key areas of academic work - research and teaching - come together in what is called the ‘Scholarship of Teaching and Learning’ and extends to research on the pedagogical basis of the disciplines. This research group comprises researchers who are investigating a range of overlapping issues concerned with learning and teaching at the tertiary level. Research topics include:
  • The development of research skills;
  • Graduate capabilities and the transition to work;
  • Assessment and feedback;
  • Teaching and learning methods, such as peer assisted learning;
  • The research-teaching-industry nexus; and
  • The role of e-learning in learning.
