Units

For the CPA program to count towards the MAcc (CPA Extension), students must enrol in the following Macquarie University postgraduate units in the same period in which they enrol in the corresponding CPA segments (except for ACCG903, see Study Pattern below).

Each unit carries the weight of four postgraduate credit points.
Compulsory units:

ACCG901 CPA - Reporting & Professional Practice

ACCG902 CPA - Corporate Governance and Accountability

ACCG903 CPA - Business Strategy and Leadership

Elective units

ACCG904 CPA - Assurance Services and Auditing

ACCG905 CPA - Treasury

ACCG906 CPA - Financial Accounting

ACCG907 CPA - Financial Reporting and Disclosure

ACCG908 CPA - Strategic Management Accounting

ACCG909 CPA - Taxation

ACCG910 CPA - Knowledge Management

ACCG911 CPA - Financial Planning and Superannuation

ACCG912 CPA - Insolvency and Reconstruction

Assessment of these units is 60% Macquarie University determined and 40% examination result from CPA. A pass is required in both components for a passing grade to be awarded in the unit.

Local students enrolled in the Master of Accounting can choose to enrol in one or more of the above units if extensive support in some areas of the CPA program is required.

Currently classes for these units are held during the day only.

Study Pattern

First semester of enrolment in the CPA program:

ACCG901 CPA - Reporting & Professional Practice plus 2 electives

Second semester of enrolment in the CPA program:
