Bioinformatics

Vision

The bioinformatics research group engages in research which integrates techniques and findings from molecular biology, mathematics, statistics and computing.

Scope

This trans-disciplinary research group is currently working on projects relating to DNA, RNA and proteins. One of its teams, focusing on DNA, is exploring how statistical methods might resolve questions regarding the origin of introns, while another team is developing new statistical methods that may be used in micro-array experiments for the classification, clustering and imputation of …E.  A third team is investigating optimal animal nutrition, and the largest team is developing a novel approach to predict the structure of proteins.
