My principal research interests include the following:

  • The motivations for and economic consequences of corporate accounting and disclosure policies
  • Determinants and economic consequences of earnings quality and earnings management
  • The processes via which financial and non-financial information is incorporated into the capital market
  • Corporate governance

Editorial Board Membership

I am a member of the Editorial Advisory and Review Board of the Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting.  This is a refereed journal published jointly by the Accounting Research Institute, Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Institut Teknologi Mara, Malaysia and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Refereeing

I have been referee for papers submitted to be considered for publication in the following journals:

Research Funding

I am a member of the Organisational Governance and Performance Research Network.  This is a research grouping within the Department of Accounting and Finance.  We have been awarded Faculty funding of $20,000 to support collaborative research.
