FIELD OF RESEARCH AND PROFESSIONAL INTEREST

(i) Income Distribution Analysis: Income Inequality and measurement aspects, Decomposition of Inequality Indices and Application (South, South East and East Asia, Australia, New Zealand).

(ii) Applied Policy Analysis: Policies related to development (rural and urban), population/ageing, migration, poverty, welfare and inequality. Human Capital development, linkages between education and inequality (South and South East Asia).

(iii) Applied Welfare Economics: Trade-offs between equity and efficiency, measurement of social welfare, Pareto Optimality, Decomposition of Social Welfare function (Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia), benefit-cost analysis.

(iv) Environmental Macroeconomics and Distribution of income: Internalization of environmental values in macroeconomic models,
environmental policy modelling with a consideration of changing pattern of distribution of income (South East Asia).

(v) Inequality and health economics: Dilemma of ability-to-pay and willingness-to-pay for healthcare in developing countries (South East Asia), relationship between economic inequality and health condition

(vi) Philosophy and Economics: Ethics, Distributive Justice, Concepts of fairness
